System Sync Coming Soon...

We spend a lot of time thinking about cabinets, flooring and electrical appliances when designing a new kitchen. But the kitchen sink deserves just as much consideration. The choice of materials, sizes and add-ons has vastly increased over recent years, and so much for the better. So, what models, materials and accessories are having a moment?

There’s a growing trend for adding a touch of vintage to our kitchens, to create a homely feel. And the kitchen sink is the ideal place to do that with antique brass and copper finishes and modern takes on traditional tap styles. Belfast sinks are making a comeback too. The white ceramic has a timeless and comforting appeal. It works well with wood worktops and sink skirts when you want to go the whole way with your country styling. For those that like modern convenience, an undermounted ceramic sink with a double bowl is the perfect kitchen addition.

These elements fit in well with our desire to be more eco-conscious in the kitchen. Using responsibly sourced wood and durable materials that last is key to keeping our sinks sustainable. But some sink accessories can help us go a step further. For example, adding an aerator not only increases the functionality of your tap but reduces your water usage.

Clean-lined styles are popular with those looking for a more luxurious kitchen and those needing to maximise their space. Inset or low-profile sinks with deck-mounted taps and levers or spout-mounted handles tick all these boxes. They not only look the part but leave us more surface to play with, making them the ideal partner to a statement quartz, marble or stone worktop.

Using mixed materials is very much on-trend in the kitchen. Going for a stylish combination of matt black and brushed brass or brushed nickel and wood on your taps is a great way to add personality to a functional space. Mixing-up your finishes can elevate industrial kitchen styling too. A matt black and antique brass tap with a sleek, angular design is sure to take your sink to the next level.
