As with the rest of your home, your kitchen should reflect your personality. Afterall, no one wants to spend time cooking and eating in bland and uninteresting surroundings.

The obvious way to bring colour into your kitchen is through the walls and cabinets. But you can go beyond this and express yourself in the kitchen with these top five products.

The Sink

As part of the work triangle, the sink plays a central role in the kitchen. So, why not turn this unassuming area into something a little more special? Choosing a style to suit your personality adds a new dimension to sharing a ‘sinkie’ on your socials. If you’re the unflappable type, you might go with a cool white ceramic number but if you like a bit of drama, a black granite sink might be more your thing.

Taps

Once seen as purely functional, taps have taken on a new role in the kitchen thanks to more thoughtful and colourful designs. Now you can choose anything from an earthy terracotta to reflect a warm-hearted personality to a matt black to express your boldness. And those who feel a deep sense of connection to the outdoors can mirror this with taps in natural hues and wood tones.

Splashback Tiling

Splashbacks are a great way to add a beautiful band of colour and personality to your kitchen worktops. Tiled splashbacks are on trend for 2024 with warm pinks and tranquil blue-greens giving off a rustic and homely feel. This will resonate with those who are grounded and family-orientated. But there’s no need to stick to trends to express yourself. For instance, those with a sunny outlook might favour a pop of yellow.

Hardware

Handles, rails and other hardware can bring even more colour and personality into the kitchen. Brass tones bring a warmth that makes a kitchen feel welcoming, making brushed and antique handles popular with sociable people. Meanwhile, those who are cool, calm and collected might feel an affinity with silvery steel and nickel hardware.

The Island

As a kitchen focal point, the island is an obvious place to express yourself with colour. Be it green painted panels highlighting your affinity with nature or brightly upholstered bar stools showing off your fun-loving side, the island’s a blank canvas for you to bring out your individual personality.
